for the last couple of months judy dunn has been quietly writing about her journey in art and business on her new blog ‘artrepreneur’. she’s tucked the link to the blog deep inside her website full of wonderful vessels, jewelry and polymer clay origami peace cranes, but it’s there, and i encourage you to bookmark it. this week she posted about the benefits of networking with like-minded individuals and it really hit home with me:dunn_applevessel
“Groups can have infinitely more power than the individual. And artists, by nature, work in isolation. This isolation can be part of how we create. That time alone allows our creative voice to be heard. But when it comes to the business side of being and artist/craftsperson….that isolation can be deadly.”

read about her solution to the problem and how you can get connected here. thanks judy – getting involved in a group is on my short list for 2007!

Judy surprised us when she sent her fellow artists in the Art Salon (referenced in her blog) this particular entry. We were honored and humbled. We all agree that working in isolation has its advantages and disadvantages. Coming together with this group of like-minded folks has been inspiring and motivating. Thanks Judy for sharing our wonderful experience in Art Salon.
