sometimes the artists find me and the posts write themselves.

french artist laure left two comments about tuesday’s chiyogami post. when i meandered over to her website i got lost for a long time. the blog shows her progress as she creates scenes that will be used to illustrate a children’s book.

i don’t think the figures are polymer clay…maybe some other type of modeling compound…paper clay? paper mache? it looks like she dresses them in paper clothing. there are many, many photos of her figures and buildings in different stages of creation. though i still don’t speak french (someday…) i learned quite a bit from studying the pictures. for polymer clay dollmakers and sculptors i promise, it is a delightful journey through her creative process.
