briar press is a community of letterpress printers, book artists, and printing enthusiasts. in addition to an online museum, classifieds, discussion forum and yellow pages, there is a section called ‘cuts & caps’ – illustrations of ornaments and initials scanned from old specimen books. the images are free for your personal use (not commercial). it’s a great resource. the services are free, but you can make a donation to help keep the site running.
