jenna colby’s polymer clay characters are moody, endearing and vaguely familiar. the figures come to life under colby’s skillful use of color and expression. they look almost as if they peeled themselves from one of colby’s paintings, shimmied off the canvas and straight into our hearts.

colby is another painter who makes the shift to 3d art appear effortless. her paintings and sculptures reflect a penchant for story telling: “A random passerby on a random day in a random moment has a story to tell, a history, a set of beliefs and intentions, all happening, all true and real, but unnoticed by most.”

check out colby’s website and etsy shop. these quirky sculpts are loveable, collectible, scene-stealing good. i think there could be a book or movie in swirl girl’s (pictured above) future.

i am smitten.
