tied to your timepiece? watch, cell phone, clock? well then, you might appreciate what sergey jivetin does with watch hands. even if you don’t feel like a slave to time i think you will agree with me that his artistry is superb. here’s what the artist says about this collection:

“I hope to visually represent a relationship between multifaceted and delicately balanced construction history of our contemporary perception of time and its manifestation. I want the audience to take a look at our symbolic relationship to time by experiencing it in the third dimension, as something fantastic, and yet tangible.”

his website is a bit daunting. my heart raced as i tried to ‘capture’ each picture to read the description. i was in a hurry to see each piece and the way the website is set up it takes time. i couldn’t help but wonder if that was by design. perhaps another way to force us to look at our relationship to time?

can you guess what material he used for this filigree pin? innovative. beautifully executed. finely detailed work.

As you enter the site If you “take the time” to position your cursor over the moving pics( the space) you can alter the speed of their movement and/or stop the movement. Heady stuff! Think about it!

The pic posted in the blog reminds me of a space ship.
