Alice Simpson’s first career catering to fashion and cosmetic customers left her questioning society’s ideas of acceptable beauty. The accomplished book artist and Tango aficionado went on to redefine beauty with her Abundant Beauty collection of clay portrait sculptures, inspired by circus fat lady memorabilia. My themes will continue to masquerade in the guise of theater and performance. Within this realm, I expect to challenge the norms of acceptance and comfort.
