Have you seen this? I want one. Not only because I think it is a good idea, but because I want to cover one with polymer clay. Make it a piece of art. Can you bake rubber? OK, OK – click here to see what it is – would look good covered with polymer clay, don’t you think?

What a neat idea! The rubber should be fine in the oven and it says it has plastic in it too. Lots of plastics are bakeable so give it a shot. Combined with the rubber, I’m betting it would hold up great. Just “bake it naked” first to be sure. How DO you find all this cool stuff?
no need to cover, make it completly out of polymer clay !
The angle is less than 90 degrees, most likely 80 to 75. Card board and masking tape make easy forms. I made a form to make pen stands like these:

I cut 4 pieces of cardboard, two were triangles with a 75 degree angle on one corner, these are the sides of the ‘box’. The other two are taped to those, and you have a form to bake clay on.
Although since I always use the same plug for my phone, it’s tempting to make a plate cover that has the shelf built in… hum… food for thought…Thanks Victoria
Hi Kim – Love the “bake it naked” reference…though I admit, funny visions popped into my head when I read that line! Very funny.
Victoria – thanks for the instructions – sounds very do-able. The whole idea resonated with me – maybe because I’m prone to tripping over the wires and phones charging here ,there and everywhere!
