The Japanese art of paperfolding has held my attention for more than 30 years. Long before I knew about polymer clay, I spent countless hours folding – frogs were a particular favorite and there was a time that I could make a jumping frog so tiny you could barely see it! I still fold occasionally, and I try to keep up with what is going on in the world of paper, but this Paper Crumpling technique is something I’ve never seen before.
Watch what happens when the artist makes a series of folds and then repeatedly crumples a paper napkin. Fascinating. Later this week I’ll show you a paper crumpling master. Stay tuned!

Wow! A bit tedious but gorgeous result. Reminds me of the “cootie catchers” we used to make as children. And on a similar note I just got back from a week at a resort in Mazatlan, Mexico where both the kleenex boxes and the toilet paper were decorated with flowers made from those products.
Wow – who would have thought that something so beautiful could come from a paper napkin. I have several origami books – fascinating and frustrating!
Gorgeous. Susan, you would have loved the simply mindboggling exhibition of master level origami this summer at the peabody-Essex Museum in Salem, MA. They did impossible things with paper! It had to involve magic!
