We are bracing for our first winter storm of the season in the NY Hudson Valley and I’ll be hunkering down in the studio with Grant Diffendaffer’s book and a few newly opened blocks of clay. Usually I feature one artist at a time on PCNotes, but this morning’s post highlights a gallery with a nice online presence – thought you might like the change of pace.

browngrotta arts ( see – some people like to use all lowercase) has been representing museum quality art for more than twenty years. With a focus on fiber arts, the gallery boasts online images from more than 90 artists and links to hundreds of artist interviews, including The Iowa Women Artists Oral History Project and The Smithsonian Archive of American Art’s oral histories.

The gallery’s website is a treasure trove of information on art textiles and fiber sculpture, featuring more than 1,000 images, links to video, blogs and podcasts, perspectives on art, artists, collecting and criticism. Take a break from your holiday happenings and go on this eye-popping virtual tour of the fiber arts world.
