This morning I listened to Seth Savarick talking shop with Alison Lee on Craftcast. They chatted about Synergy, Seth’s enlightening view of imitation and inspiration and the exciting new direction he’s taking with his work.
Synergy was a powerful experience for me on many levels including cultivating relationships with people I previously knew only through the blog, email or phone calls. Seth and I have exchanged many emails over the last several months, meeting for the first time at the conference. For me, a highlight of the Synergy experience was sitting down with him for a couple of hours and getting to know more about what fuels one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met and one of the most talented working polymer clay artists today.
Listening to Alison and Seth talk felt like I was able to continue the conversation and hear more of Seth’s uplifting message. You can listen too as Savarick shares his thoughts regarding how we learn through imitation, how we move past imitation into self-exploration and how we gracefully shift towards inspired work.
Quick Take-Away: Seth shares a great tip with Alison he calls his ‘parking lot’ – another good reason to listen to the interview!

That was a great podcast. Seth’s got a really interesting point of view, and the energy bouncing between Allison and Seth was so fun. I can’t wait to see Seth’s new work.
Susan,
Thank you so much for featuring me on your site. Your Blog is so great and you do so much to promote polymer clay. I can not say it enough, THANK YOU!!!!
Seth L Savarick.
I’ve been a huge fan of Seths from the moment I began my ‘clay journey’. I, too, met him for the first time at synergy, and he was everything I’d imagined….what a great guy, and a fabulous artist.
