Louise Fischer Cozzi invites you to join her this summer for a week of polymer clay instruction, Italian culture and lakeside living on Italy’s majestic Lago Maggiore. There are still a few seats left for the workshop, scheduled for July 20-26, 2008 but hurry – I expect this one will sell out soon.
This year guest artist Victoria Hughes, best known as the original innovator of polymer clay imitative techniques, unveils her newest imitative technique which she developed specifically for the Italy workshop.
Traditional Italian Pietra Dura uses polished, colored semi-precious stones that are cut and assembled to create miniature painterly images. The polymer clay community is once again gifted with this respected artist’s generosity and unique spirit as she translates the ancient art form into another exciting imitative technique.
Cozzi, whose work with oil paints and translucent polymer clay continues to delight us, will be teaching several techniques that students will use to construct miniature folding screens.
Soak up the local flavor, enjoy hostess Cozzi’s fabulous cocktail party, walk the open markets, absorb the artistic inspiration that comes with serene lakeside living, and learn from two internationally renowned polymer clay artists. Sounds like a little slice of heaven…
Contact Louise Fischer Cozzi at tempestal@aol.com for more information and to request a brochure about the Italy workshop, and please read Victoria Hughes’ workshop description. Sounds too good to miss!
