work in progress: thin polymer clay shapes

I’m still trying to figure out what I want to do with these thin translucent shapes. My original idea was to make a vessel…but I’m not sure how I want to get there. Here are a few ‘chips’ that I threaded with ribbon. I’m going to keep playing until the chips decide what they want to be when they grow up.

Gorgeous color palette and the ribbon really sets it off. Can’t wait to see where you go next!

I am crazy about these, wish I had a few hundred of them. Maybe someday you will share your technique if we are lucky, I see these strung together for a window covering. The light coming through would be stunning!

Yes, beach glass, that’s what my daughter said when she saw the piles of them sitting in my studio!

Glad you all like them…I’m just a tad bit frustrated that I can’t ‘see’ what they want to be.

Scott – I have toyed with the idea of making a lamp shade of sorts, but I like your idea for a window covering. I have an interesting idea for lighting, but with sheets, not small shapes. I’m sewing the clay now too…

Those are really interesting! I love the colors. I would be tempted just to put them in a small bowl (with the ribbon intact) and leave them on out on the coffee table to be ogled and fondled.

Susan, these are scrumptious! I love the soft colors. I agree with Scott. Hang them in a window and let the light shine through them. Beautiful!
