fortner’s polymer clay vignettes

Jessica Fortner is a young illustrator based in Toronto with a vivid imagination that is played out in the scenes she creates using Super Sculpey and found objects. Fortner sculpts the characters, creates an appropriate environment, then photographs the results for the final illustration. She says her illustrations “play like stills from strange lost movies.” Edgy. Dark. Not your run of the mill scenes from daily life.
Goblin’ Stuff
Goblin’ Stuff depicts an old lady blindly being led by a goblin that has grown out of all the junk she owns. It entices her with a brightly wrapped gift. Her curiosity, greed and obsession keep her pedaling. In a trance she follows the present into a strange and desolate land.
