I love writing this blog. Have I mentioned that before? I love bringing you inspiration every day – musefood so that you can go off and create with energy and zest. It is pure validation for me when I receive an email with pictures of your work…and the post that inspired you.
Jana Roberts Benzon got to work in her studio immediately after seeing this post about Sheila Hrasky’s ceramic nesting bowls. She spent the entire weekend working on a design for stackable polymer clay jewelry based on Hrasky’s bowls. Here are the results…
Jana describes how the pendant works:
There are various ‘disks’ in descending sizes, which are interchangeable to give the jewelry a different look/color. The disks are strung on hand-dyed silk ribbons. It can be worn as a bracelet, “corsage” style, on top of the wrist, or as a choker, with the bow poised right next to the polymer piece, or it can be attached with a brooch pin and worn as a brooch.
Now that’s what I’m talking about! Yes, I do love writing this blog…

Gosh, I can’t believe I had the same idea and didn’t try it! Jana’s work rocks way more than mine would anyway
How cool is that?!!! Great work Jana (and Susan)!
Well, Wendy, get goin’ girl! You can still make them, and I highly doubt mine rock anymore than yours would
.
Susan, aside from a big, big thank you for showing my pieces, Wendy’s comment leads me to the other thing I wanted to say, and that is that everyone should give this kind of thing a try! They were so much fun to do (and thus, the reason for my weekend “stacking bender”
…..I’d love to see what versions others come up with….
(oh, and thanks Libby!)
What a fantastic concept! That Jana is a true innovator!
wow, great idea and awsome realization – you rock girl!
