Shannon Sullivan’s abstract wall hangings combine textural, earthy ceramic shapes and more industrial materials like plexiglas and resin with a result that is all organic.

Glazed ceramic elements in tandem with resin and Plexiglas are evocative of clustering kelp or juicy microbes. It is central that while using concepts such as growth, mutation, and organization in nature, I am not attempting to recreate a particular situation. Blending of images and ideas from the living world to invent viscous new hybrid forms fascinates me. Shannon Sullivan
