Innovator and jewelry artist Arthur Hash is on the move. Literally. Hash is relocating from Richmond Virginia to my neck of the woods to join the faculty at SUNY New Paltz (this school’s Master of Fine Arts Program in Metal/Jewelry was recently ranked #1 in the nation).
Polyurethane, loose leaf tea
With an MFA in Metalsmithing and Jewelry Design, Hash’s bold use of non-precious materials catapulted him into the limelight in the contemporary jewelry world several years ago and he continues to shake things up as he plays with new materials and develops his finesse of each design.
Brass, old shoe sole
Also new is Hash’s updated website. It just might be the coolest website gallery ever. Ever. Welcome to the neighborhood Mr. Hash – we’re delighted to have you join us in New York!

No way. I attended SUNY New Paltz for a little while. I loved the area.
I wish I’d known then that I love crafts. I would have been an art major.
I misspelled my own name.
Quelle moron.
