Maybe Stacey Lee Webber has the right idea. Our country’s current economic state of affairs raises questions for all of us about the value of our money. Webber’s art shifts the value of a penny by turning the small change into sculpture worth much more. The website shows her sculptures in three categories: Tools, Money, Screws. Hmmm…wonder what she’s trying to tell us with those titles. Maybe Stacey Lee Webber has the right idea.

I checked out her site and was blown away by her work, particularly the hand tools. the penny saw and the filigree pliers changed my perception of what it is possible to do with functional objects.
