lock and key

Is your creativity locked up, locked away, locked out?  Lock mechanisms are curious things that often work in mysterious ways.  Try to view being locked out as a gift and see if the key appears, the lock is broken, the doors open wide.  It has been this way for me, but there are times that I need a gentle reminder.  You too?

I often feel overwhelmed by all of the ideas I have, which, in turn, shuts down my creativity. A gentle reminder is a good thing.

By the way: I absolutely love your blog. It’s a fantastic source of inspiration and I always, always look forward to seeing what you’ve posted.

    Thank you so much!

Many years ago in NYC a photographer shared a great tip with me– write down your ideas as they bubble up and keep them in a folder; that way, if you have a creative block, see what’s in there and it may just stimulate something new or re-work an idea that you had a while ago. I believe that there “are no coincidences” and that the ideas that you discover are the perfect ones to be working on at any given time. Having expectations of what you “should” be working on are killers of creativity. Christine

Hmmm, I feel that not only is my creativity locked away, but that there is so much clutter between me and the doorway, that sometimes I’m not sure that a door is even there…

I need to clear my mind.

    Uggg-
