Alev Gozonar continues to lead the way using polymer clay in bold studies of color and pattern. She has been busy with exhibitions, most recently participating in Contemporary Istanbul ’08, and as we can see from these images, her work with thin slices of patterned polymer clay continues to evolve.

The artist successfully suspends the slices of clay on wires, creating a dramatic sense of free-falling motion. The striking assemblages are reminiscent of cell structures or colorful bubbles in a body of water trying to rise to the surface.
