First an apology: I’m sorry if you had difficulty accessing Daily Art Muse yesterday.  It wasn’t you.  It was a gremlin that got loose on my web host’s server.  The blog was more offline than it was online yesterday.  They have assured me that they caught the littler critter – here’s hoping.

The site was online long enough for Kimberly Hodes to read my post about Photoshop and take me up on the invitation to grab Jessica’s photo and play.  A self proclaimed Photoshop buff, Hodes worked her magic on the image.

It is easy to see why she does this for a living.  Take a look at her photo restorations.

Anyone else want to give it a try with the photo?  You can find the image here.

Hodes’ other passion is polymer clay and her organic line clay drawings offer lovely minimalistic designs.

Thanks again Kimberly – I love it!  Oh, and I’m still looking for a class or private instruction – do you teach?

Bettinaaaaaaa! Another keeper! Why does Germany have to be so far away? If you were closer you could teach me how to do that.

Seth dear…I’ll be emailing you soon.

Kimberly, thanks for being such a good sport – your work rocks!

Susan, I don’t actually teach, but I’m always up for giving tips. The two most important things (besides layers) in photoshop if you’re doing retouch work is 1. Levels and 2. channels. If you can master levels and channels you can do more than most.

    These are two great resources:

    For Restoration and retouching:
Photoshop Restoration & Retouching – Katrin Eisman

    For graphic and design work:
Photoshop Wow – Linnea Dayton and Cristen Gillespie

If you have PS questions, you can also send them on over and I’ll do my best to walk you through the process. :)

    Good Luck, Kim

    Dear Kimberly,
Your polymer clay work is lovely. Do you use epoxy resin or liquid clay to get that high gloss and high depth finish?
    Thanks,
    Jill
