jahyun rita baek: geometric acrylic

Later on today I’ll be shaking things up with a loud, bodacious giveaway so I thought this morning’s post should be quiet and serene.  Jahyun Rita Baek’s Cloud series appealed to my need to slow down and breathe deeply.

Carefully cut acrylic geometric shapes are the foundation for this series, a semi-translucent collection of jewels that mimic milky-white glass baubles.

I can see this kind of geometric shape construction interpreted in paper, polymer clay…even metal.  Baek balances the white collection with a more colorful set she calls Soft Gems.
