Thanks Kathi and Brenda!

Elaine - doing great now and hoping to stay that way!

Maureen - thank you for your kind words and heartfelt sentiment. I've missed your comments on daMuse!

As an addendum to the post (and in response to some of the emails that I have received since Wednesday), here's the back story to my posting about the cancer:

During a long conversation with Tom (my guy), discussing what to include in my year-end post, he reminded me that part of the appeal of Daily Art Muse is that while it is about ART first, I do let my voice, my life, my experiences come through from time to time.

He let me sit with that awhile and then quietly mentioned that he thought there was a public-service aspect to my particular experience that could benefit others. While I do not want to impose my journey on everyone, I realized that I could let others know I had been dealing with cancer and then if anyone wanted to start a dialogue or needed information they could email me privately.

Many thanks for your well-wishes. While we all know that life is changeable, right now I'm happy, healthy and looking forward to this wonderful new year!

The lesson for me in reading your post is that I really should act more on my intuition. Several times this past year I thought of sending you, Susan, a little "thinking of you" note as I sensed a poignancy in your writings that spoke to me. But - I never did it.

I, too, am glad that you're still here and that I have the opportunity to say thank you, and to tell you that reading your posts has become a part of my ritual. But, more than that, I appreciate your vulnerability and trueness and personal voice.
