Thank you very much for sharing this, my dreams will be different tonight – the silence in these picture is inmense ….
Regards KLK
As a new diver and a long time sculptor, this has touched me in many ways. So beautiful and haunting.
Thank you, Autumn
Susan, you enrich my life so much by bringing into it such memorable art, art that I would probably never discover on my own. Thank you so much
This underwater sculture touched me in ways that I can’t even express. The combination of the silent figures and light and music, I felt like I was viewing an ancient civilization that came to an early end, but somehow did so with dignity and love and respect intact. And then, which is what brought the tears to my eyes, I began to wonder if this is how future generations will view us and what we leave behind someday.
dear susan, i was led to your site by my teacher, Paul Stankard. He is a wonderful man and an artist of the highest caliber. He loves teaching and he is always leading his students to discover new and interesting things in the art world. He thinks highly of you and that is an amazing compliment. Every time he praises me or likes my work it is like getting a jet engine power boost! i am going to school for sculptural glasswork. I began school in the beginning of january in 2008. I am 48 years old and the art world in all of its aspects has renewed me in a way i never dreamed possible. My oldest son died in 2000 and my world shut down. I began to work through my grief by crafting and became interested in glass as a medium of expression for my return to life. I have since broadened my interests and began to look at installation artwork and have respect for all artwork in all mediums… but, the wonder i feel while viewing the work of Jason de Caires Taylor is incredible. the possiblities he has opened up for me and the inspiration of his work is amazing. I feel my creative self expanding like a balloon inside me when i view his work. Thank you so much for your hard work in providing so much inspiration and growth not only for myself but for the millions or more that you touch on a daily basis. thank you so much!!! i am so in love with jason taylor’s underwater sculpture!!!!!!!!!
by the way the article you did on paul stankard and his botanical paperweights was awesome and i loved it… thank you so much!
Art from the hand of man coupled with the natural beauty of the sea…Mr. Taylors’ installations meld both with a sense of timeless wonder. The circle of figures brings to mind ancient civilizations and mysteries long forgotten, and they seem perfectly at home in the deepness of the sea. In contrast, the desk and typewriter appear wildly out of place at first glance. Perhaps it is the juxtaposition of ancient/modern that is evocative and emotionally stunning.
This artist is amazing- thank you so much for posting! He has catapulted to the top of my favorite artists list as well as the list of art I hope to one day see in real life. Amazing.
