I’m feeling under the weather today – while I rest and drink a cup of hot tea take a look at what Germany’s Ines Schwotzer does with a roll of wire and a few techniques borrowed from the textile arts.

[private_archives]I’m itchy to slip a surprise inside one of these wire cages.  Maybe a Diffendaffer polymer clay Recursive Bead? What other combination do you think might make an interesting collaboration? Felted balls? Snippets of tatted lace?

These are stunning pieces. (Yes I could see a beautiful bead trapped in one of those cages.) The second necklace reminds of lovely grey lichen.
Hope you are feeling better soon!

Very beautiful work. I think tiny clusters of pearls scattered randomly inside a few cages would look lovely.

That piece is arresting because of its clean and pristine lines…but I admit to sharing your itch!! I’d like to pop a square shape inside a cage and then coil a tiny rope of polymer or a knot of flyaway fibers around the joins on either side of the cage to frame it.

This type of “what would you do” challenge would make an amazing alternative to the typical retreat & conference bead strands!

Love them the way they are! (I always do that — I find stuff I could “change” and imagine all the changes and variations and plot and scheme — and leave the thing in the original condition, partly because I can’t choose just one solution!)

That wire cage piece is lovely! Oh, put candy inside, LOL! ;)
I like the idea of tatted lace because I tat! :)
