[private_archives]Meyns is most interested in plants at the end of their life cycle, when they are only a ghost of their former selves, carrying the seeds of hope for new life.  It is this fragility that she strives to capture in her work.

The images on her website left me wanting to see more – it would be nice to see this series expanded.  I also wonder what other materials are thin enough to get a similar effect.  Plastic? Gut?

Light activates the work; illuminating the finest of details inherent in the materials and those which have been purposely trapped and worked into them.
