This week has been challenging for me and I’m relieved that it’s Friday. I’m trying to shake up the energy and move it in a different direction.  Stephen Rolfe Powell’s edgy, colorful blown glass vessels are exactly what I need this morning, with colors that dazzle, shapes that defy logic and names that tickle the funny bone.

An article about Elise Winters in the current issue of Ornament Magazine is perhaps the most up close and personal article written to date about the innovative polymer clay artist.  The article speaks about her personal journey, challenges and triumphs in addition to Winters’ efforts to raise the profile of the medium by publicly documenting its history on Polymer Art Archive and her continued, consistent pursuit to find a museum that will take on a larger role in securing future recognition and a place of serious study for polymer clay artists.
