Korea’s Kyeok Kim must have been a curious child. Her willingness to explore outrageous concepts gives us an opportunity to view jewelry and branding in a new way. In 2007, Kim created a buzz when she designed a collection of jewelry that projects light patterns on to the wearer. I like her Aurora Light Jewelry, but the rest of Kim’s Jewelry As Second Skin collection is even more intriguing to me:

Like Your Voice leaves an impression on the skin after it has been worn. It becomes an immaterial ornament as a second skin. The mark left by letters is about emotive memory, the bracelet says ‘in the rain sounds like a cello…in the sunbeams, sounds like a piano…like your voice’, the ring says ‘one day in April’.
