An article about Elise Winters in the current issue of Ornament Magazine is perhaps the most up close and personal article written to date about the innovative polymer clay artist.  The article speaks about her personal journey, challenges and triumphs in addition to Winters’ efforts to raise the profile of the medium by publicly documenting its history on Polymer Art Archive and her continued, consistent pursuit to find a museum that will take on a larger role in securing future recognition and a place of serious study for polymer clay artists.

If that doesn’t get you to the book store to purchase the magazine then the stunning images of Winters’ work should do the trick.  The excerpt above is a tiny tease – the layout in the magazine is far more beautiful and the picture of Elise wearing her own Ruffle necklace is one of the best marketing pieces I’ve seen yet. Congratulations Elise and thanks for all that you do – your massive effort on behalf of the future of the medium is deeply appreciated.

    Hello Susan,
Thank you for pointing out this article – or I would have missed it. Ornament magazine has been a blessing to artists celebrating the amazement of this colorful clay, and featured articles such as this are an acknowledgement of talent as well as inspiration and indication of future fulfillment. Elise has been a driving force in the evolution of the art and it is joyous to see her work continually erupt with new depth. She is a master of her delightful technique, crazing, and proof of infinite growth. Thanks Elise, from the bottom of my heart. You are my mentor.
