Janel Jacobson started her career as a potter in the 70′s.  After moving to rural Minnesota she began to sketch small scenes from nature in her spare time, eventually incorporating these scenes on the surface of her pots. The work continued to evolve and the sketches became three dimensional low-relief sculptures carved on to porcelain clay.

today’s flickr find:

These polymer clay wearable vessels, made by Switzerland’s Enkhtsetseg Tserenbadam (Enkhe), were inspired by a post on DAMuse featuring cut and sliced glass sculptures. You can see Enkhe’s first attempts at carving the clay in this Flickr set.

I’m not sure how to categorize Barbara Becker Simon.  She’s been a jeweler for more than 35 years -  a lampwork and bead artist since 1996.  She holds a Master in Fine Arts degree in metalwork. Known for both her lampworked beads and her metal hollow core vessels, she began teaching PMC in 2004 and recently added BronzClay to her artist’s toolbox. Well rounded? Indeed.
