Here is a picture of one of the many plants that I took dozens of pictures of while I was on retreat.  I was there long enough to catch it in bud form and then a week later in full blossom.  The quote is one of my favorites. Something to think about this morning.  Empowering.

Over the next few weeks I will share more images of the things that soothed my spirit while I was away.  Some will be raw – straight from the camera and some, like this one, will be my experiments manipulating photos in Photoshop.  Susan Tuttle’s book Digital Expressions is a good starting point for anyone who wants to learn how to alter photographs. The book is set up for creating digital art with Photoshop Elements, though I use Photoshop CS4 and found it easy to follow.  Tuttle is also offering three online classes this summer – you can find more information here.
