Does any of this sound familiar?
If you are ready to
work on your online presence so that you can build a wider audience and
loyal customers then it’s time to register for Artist Online. In this 8-week program I walk you through the confusing maze of choices,
answer your questions and teach you the basics using a combination of
conference calls, screencast tutorials, handouts, forum posts, email
and live online instruction.
Artist Online is for you if:
- You don’t have time to sift through dozens of options for website design
- You are overwhelmed by the choices, options, possibilities and prices of web design for your portfolio website
- You are tired of paying web designers thousands of dollars
- You want more control over what is on your website, and the ability to change things at any time
- You are embarrassed by your website
- You secretly worry you must not be a ‘real’ artist because your website is outdated, not user-friendly or non-existent
- The task of sifting through all of the different possibilities stops you from taking action and creating a website or updating your existing site
- You wish you had a place to go where a familiar face and a friendly voice can walk you through some of the choices
The goal is for you
to get your site up in 30 days and I also want to support you as you
continue to develop and tweak the site (or if life gets in the way and
it takes you a little longer to complete the website) so I’ve made

A website that features your art is no longer an option for artists. It’s a necessity. You want a website to invite viewers in and convince them to stay awhile, like your art. It’s often the first exposure to your work and an opportunity for you to help admirers transition to customers.

Who Am I?
I’m
Susan
Lomuto and I am not a web designer. I am the author of Daily Art Muse, a
research diva, an ex-non-profit executive director, a lover of
contemporary fine craft.
When I started DAM five years ago I
didn’t know the first thing about websites or blogs – in fact I didn’t
even know what a blog was – I just knew I had inspiration to share.
I was so passionate about sharing the art that inspired me I set out on a learning curve that took me from Blogger to Wordpress to Photoshop to HTML to CSS to Social Media and a very long list of other skills. Along the way I mastered many of these skills and become passionate about the impact of simple, effective websites for artists.
My
search for great art to share with the thousands of people who read
Daily Art Muse has resulted in me visiting more than 200,000 artist’s
websites.
I’ve seen it all – from websites that have not been updated
in ten years to websites that have so many bells and whistles that it
is impossible to find the art.
When it comes to artist websites I know the must-have features and the don’t-even-think-about-it mistakes to avoid.
I’ve lost count of how many times I have found exciting art that I wanted to feature on Daily Art Muse, but couldn’t because the artist’s website wasn’t good enough to support the work or the artist didn’t have a website.
It doesn’t have to happen to you! I’m on a mission to help artists showcase their work online in a way that serves them.
I hear from artists almost every day that they need a website, or need to update an existing website, find a web designer, wait until they have money for a web designer, find the time. I am asked again and again: How did I set up my blog? Can I recommend an affordable web designer? Do I teach artists how to get their work in front of online customers or galleries?
Frustrated by what I was seeing and hearing I put my research skills to work to find high quality alternatives that won’t break the bank. I weeded through hundreds of resources, spent countless hours compiling information and created a list of best picks. In the Artist Online program I tell you what they are and teach you how to use them.
