today’s flickr find:

I’m not afraid to say that I want more of the well lived life…more love, laughter, joy, abundance, highs, smiles, successes, serenity, fearless days, calm, good health…more please.

perspective and gratitude

perspective and gratitude

Today I captured this tense moment as a large wasp trapped a grasshopper, getting ready to kill it. I was instantly grateful – compared to that little guy, I was having a really good day.   And how was your day today?

john & fish’s birds

john & fish’s birds

flickr find:

John & Fish spend their weekdays working at John’s software technology company in Taiwan and weekends taking pictures of bird life on the island. The brother and sister team, who have lived and worked together for 20 years, began taking pictures in 2006 – joining Flickr a year later. Their Flickr album garnered more than one million clicks in their first two years on the image hosting site – impressive. See all of the images here.

photography workshop: learning…always learning

photography workshop: learning…always learning

flickr find:

I was in Woodstock over the weekend attending an Intro to Digital Photography workshop with Joan Barker at The Center for Photography at Woodstock (CPW). First time I used an SLR camera – what a different world! The center is outstanding, including a stellar staff – their assistance was much appreciated. Joan is a generous, patient teacher with a zest for life and a passion for photography that is contagious. I’m hooked. More images coming soon.

Beach hut on wheels. Now why didn’t I think of that? I could live there. On the beach.  In the wheeled beach hut. Coming?

never ending story and a question for you

never ending story and a question for you

flickr find:

I have quite a bit of tidying up to do, both virtual and real life (and that’s the never ending story…), so instead of a regular post on DAM today I will be posting lots of art related links on the Daily Art Muse Facebook Page while I tidy up here.  Back to my regular posting tomorrow.

As for my virtual cleaning – I’ve been made aware that the Categories box on DAM is being finicky again.  I’m working on a permanent fix for it, but I would like to know if it is currently working for anyone.  The mystery is that it works for me – but not for everyone.  It would be very helpful if you would leave a comment telling me if it brings you to the correct posts when you click on a category or if it brings you back to the blog’s home page (and let me know what browser you are using).  Thanks for your help – hope to see you over on Facebook!

today’s flickr find:

The gossamer thin petals on these Virginia Bluebells caught my eye – would love to see this translated into polymer.  I’m out and about today – might be back later with more. Have a great day!
