waiting

waiting

This morning as I watch the snow falling outside my window again, the beautiful stark white blanket covering the brown of trees and ground offers no relief from this long Winter chill.  I crave the oh-so-bright-soft-delicate-shocking-neon-pastel colors of Spring to warm me from the inside out.

Waiting…for color and light…for renewed opportunity…for new community…for restoration…for openings and unfoldings…waiting for Spring.

I think the quote above is a good reminder for this season of giving. I’m taking a couple of days off to get ready for a visit with Jess and Andrejs [and their two cats].  Hope your holidays are filled with love, laughter, food and safe shelter…do we really need anything more?

A vivid jolt of color.  The quote is also grand.

Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting and autumn a mosaic of them all. ~Stanley Horowitz

Shane Case
used Faux Bone in this unusual ring – I think it makes the piece. I’ve got a post coming up soon about the material – don’t miss it! In the meantime, click on the picture to see how to wear the ring fit for a warrior king (or queen?). Looks dangerous…

blueberries ripening

blueberries ripening

today’s flickr find:

My week is getting off to a topsy-turvy start, so while I set it upright and back on its course enjoy this image of blueberries ripening.  Isn’t it great?  Then watch the trailer for The Mighty Humble Blueberry, an award-winning documentary about the little fruit that could.  This time of year I eat blueberries every day…and every night. The little fruit that could.  Yes, this.

I’ll be back this afternoon with a feature post!

no broken hearts

no broken hearts

Last week one of my yoga teachers shared a favorite quote, attributed to the founder of Kripalu yoga. I got goose bumps the moment I heard it.  It’s a dark, rainy day here in New York – a good time to reflect on the power of these words.  I’ll be back this afternoon with my regular post.

Every time you judge yourself you break your own heart.
