The adobe brick architecture, pottery and landscapes of Charissa Brock’s New Mexico childhood were the beginning of her inspiration. As she traveled she added the landscapes, cultural riches and myths of other lands. When she discovered bamboo as an art material ten years ago while studying for her Master of Fine Arts degree at Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, she realized that the renewable resource could help her “incorporate a continuous narrative of my own internal culture, one that includes all that I am exposed to.”
